Objective
To assist MSMEs reduce their electricity costs.
Key Benefits
Subsidy covers 20% of power charges paid to TANGEDCO for 36 months.
Subsidy starts from commercial production or power connection date, whichever is later.
Only actual energy charges including surcharge, tax, and others (excluding penalty) are eligible.
Enterprises sharing power with another are not eligible for LTPT subsidy.
Rental buildings qualify if landlord holds connection and a 3-year lease is signed.
Lease must remain valid during the LTPT subsidy eligibility period.
Eligibility Criteria
All new micro manufacturing enterprises in Tamil Nadu are eligible.
Existing micro enterprises with major expansion or diversification are eligible.
Only micro enterprises using Low Tension Power supply (Tariff III B) are eligible.
New enterprises must apply for eligibility certificate within 3 months of production or power connection.
Expanding/diversifying enterprises must apply within 6 months of production or power connection.
Subsidy claims must be filed once every six months.
First claim can be filed within 30 days of eligibility certificate or in six months.
